"Yesterday UPS delivered the two white Chiquita cages ordered from you. The four boxes arrived in good shape, and had warnings on the outside not to discard the packaging materials until I knew the cages went together as claimed.
The first one took about 45 minutes to assemble, it being the first knockdown style I've handled. The second one took about 15 minutes to put together, including assembling the latches and food bowls. Altogether, I am extremely happy about choosing the Chiquita in white. While I wanted to get this in stainless steel, the white powder coat paint looks very nice. Our new sunporch is a small room, but the two African greys who will live in these cages enjoy out-of-cage time also. I realize the cages are smaller than optimum for them, but the dome top extends the head room nicely.
I hung their swinging toys, one suspended from the builtin ring in the center of the dome, and their favorite perches, and they went right in. The female CAG is a very neat particular little lady, and she climbed all over once inside, and approved of her new quarters. The male is more rambunctious and generally makes a mess throwing food to the dogs, etc, and the seed skirt being sturdy means it will hold up nicely. I notice that the top track for the wire grate is slanted downward, which will help direct dropped food and feathers into the tray below. I appreciate that this feature will help when it comes time to clean the cage. Lots of other cage manufacturers besides Avian Adventures puts a wire shelf under the cage, which is a handy neat feature, but few of them provide the excellent quiet wheels. It is easy to roll the cage around without removing the water bowl, the bells don't dingding as much, and overall the birds are less disturbed by adjustment of the cage location.
I had to adjust a wire tab on one of the food bowl doors because it would not permit the door to close. I bent it upward as much as 1/2 inch and now it serves its purpose, which is to lock the bowls in place, and keep the birds from removing the food bowl assembly. I appreciate this small feature also, because both my birds sometimes get in a snit if they don't like the contents so much! And pellets can be very expensive.
The white was chosen to keep the cages from looking dusty. African greys are not as bad as cockatoos for dust, but the two old cages were very dark and it was a constant battle to wipe off feather dust. Also, in the sunroom location, I figure birdy toes won't as likely get too hot from south Alabama summer sun which engulfs this room.
My male CAG lived in an Avian Adventures cage purchased 11 years ago this February. While it is still a strong and usable cage, it suffered from immersion in salt water during Hurricane Katrina. This led to rust inside the legs and now we cannot remove or roll the wheels. Probably a welder could cut off the offending rusted sections and we could attach new wheels, but I associate that cage with a time of loss and trauma. I think my CAG remembers when he was trapped in this cage too, and it is time for us to move on. At least, he seems happy with his new quarters."

"I just received a box from you on Thursday and carefully unpacked it yesterday morning. Inside was a brand new cage tray and two curving ladders for my A&E Double Stack Breeder Cage...all in perfect condition. I'm just delighted! :-)
The tray easily slides in to any of the three slots (below the cages, or as a base for the top playtop)! I could NOT begin to slide in the other defective tray. It was too out of shape. I'm also relieved that my new baby Pionus will have a complete ladder to climb on without any missing rungs or sharp edges! The extra ladder is certainly an added bonus, too. :-D
