Large Bird Cages

These large bird cages are designed for large parrots. The bar spacing on these range anywhere from 5/8" to 1". The area inside the cages are no smaller than 32"(W) x 23"(D) x 30"(H) and they can get as big as 80"(W) x 40"(D)x 61"(H). All of our large bird cages are on stands. Some of the stands are taller than others.

Here are a few good rules of thumb to determine if a cage is sized right for your bird:

The bar spacing - you don't want the space between the bars too big & chance that your bird's head could get stuck between the bars.

Area inside the cage - consider the wingspan of your bird and double that value for the inside height and width of your cage. This would be the smallest amount of room inside the cage you would want to go. Bigger is ALWAYS better for birds. (If your bird's wingspan is 16" then you would want a cage that is at least 32" wide x 30-32" high.)

Bar guage - Large birds need strong bars. 3mm bars are way to small for any bird larger than a Conure. 4mm bars are typical for most birds, but if you have a strong bird like a Hyacinth, you will want the bar gauge to be 5mm or thicker. (Of course, you would probably also want a stainless steel cage for that bird.)
